Yes. Myriad Galleries has developed a brand new upload system which takes images up to 4mb in size and resized them for showcasing on our site therefore making it easier then ever for our users to upload their new art works. It also supports three new image formats: BMP, TIFF, and GIF in addition to the already supported PNG and JPEG files. Our new system makes uploading images a breeze and solves many problems our users have had in the past when they've had to deal with image editing themselves.
Myriad Galleries accepts images in PNG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and GIF image formats.
However, JPEG is our preffered image format and all images you upload are going to be automatically converted
to this image format.
If you are using Windows you can right click on the image name in Explorer and choose Properties. The image 'Size' is listed along with other properties of the image.
If your image in under 4mb and almost all pictures then there is no need for you to resize your image. The new Myriad Galleries upload system will automatically compress and resize the uploaded image for you and prepare it for display on our website.
Uploading a large image will always take longer than uploading one that has been optimized for web. Many digital cameras and scanners output images that are 1MB (1,024,000 bytes) or larger in size. Uploading an image that big on a 56.6Kbs modem will take at least 3 minutes, and in Internet time that feels like a really long time.
If you're still having problems uploading your images please do not hesitate to contact us.
